A Wedding Film at The Pelican Club | The Sams

For Samantha and Samantha, getting to their wedding day meant traveling many miles.

Their relationship had been long-distance, with flights back and forth just to spend time together. Their wedding at The Pelican Club was finally a chance to bring together the people they loved, celebrating the life they were beginning together.

And you could feel how much it meant to everyone.

There were tears throughout the day, especially during the speeches. One of their brothers became emotional while speaking about them, while one of their dads took a completely different approach and rapped part of his speech. It was heartfelt, funny, and personal—the kind of moment that is even more meaningful because they can still hear his voice and experience it again on film.

Their Jewish traditions were woven naturally into the celebration, from signing the ketubah and marrying beneath the chuppah to breaking the glass and being surrounded by family and friends during the hora.

Their choreographed first dance was another moment they especially wanted preserved. Beyond including it in their wedding film, we captured the dance in full so they could always have the complete memory of something they had prepared together.

That’s what I love most about wedding video.

It isn't simply another way to document how your wedding looked. It preserves voices, movement, laughter, tears, and the people you love as they were in that moment.

For Samantha and Samantha, after so much time spent traveling to be together, this was one day when everyone came to them.

And now they get to keep a little bit of it in motion.

Your wedding deserves to be remembered as more than how it looked. If you want photography and film that preserve the people, emotion, and energy of the day, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.
