A Wedding Built by Community | Oliver + Bethia at Colab Gardens

Some couples spend months building their wedding team.

Bethia and Oliver spent years building their community.

As their wedding day unfolded at Colab Gardens in Stuart, I started noticing something that made this celebration feel different. Many of the people bringing the day to life weren't simply vendors—they were already part of Bethia and Oliver's story.

Their officiant was Bethia's cousin. Oliver's brother performed during cocktail hour. Friends handled the florals, catering, cake, music, and even helped document the day through photography, film, and video.

It never felt like people showing up to work.

It felt like people showing up for two people they love.

A Quiet Start

Before the celebration began, Bethia and Oliver shared a first touch and exchanged private vows.

It was one of the only quiet moments they would have together all day, and it set the tone for everything that followed. Before family and friends gathered around them, they had a chance to simply be together.

A Ceremony Filled With Emotion

Colab Gardens was the perfect setting for an outdoor ceremony. Soft drapery and thoughtful florals framed the space without taking attention away from the people standing beneath them.

As Bethia walked down the aisle, it wasn't just the two of them feeling the weight of the moment.

There were tears throughout the crowd. Her step-sister became emotional. Family and friends smiled through tears as they watched two people they love begin a new chapter together.

It reminded me that weddings aren't just about the couple standing at the altar. They're also about everyone who helped bring them there.

More Than a Celebration

The same feeling carried into the reception.

Bethia shared an emotional dance with her son. Speeches from her brother and close friends reflected years of friendship and shared memories. Later, instead of tossing her bouquet, she chose to present it to her mother—a quiet moment that said more than any tradition could.

Then the celebration took over.

The dance floor stayed full, candles were blown out before a kiss in the middle, and the night ended beneath a tunnel of sparklers.

It was joyful from beginning to end, but what stayed with me most wasn't the timeline of the day.

It was the people.
